Mascots - Pai Pai

Pai Pai is a blue petroleum gas tank with the SWC logo printed on it. Its name stands for “Easy payment with a tap”. Besides, with a happy and caring attitude, Pai Pai will be iconic and memorable.

In order to create a vivid image of Pai Pai, we designed several expressions for Pai Pai in our short advertisement.

 

Music appeal is applied. A rhyming slogan “家中一拍,即刻送達,萬事不怕” is designed to showcase the brand image. It emphasizes the meaning that with the SWC app at home, you can simply tap your Octopus card and purchase GAS. It was sung warmly by people of all ages and sexes. Hence, SWC will be valued as positive, kind-hearted, and caring about society. By special beats and appearing repeatedly, it will lead to a brainwashing effect. Also, in the commercial, the payment notification of the octopus card is iconic and representative.

Our advertisement highlights a convenient and user-friendly method for elderly individuals living alone to pay their gas bills using Octopus, which sets it apart from traditional payment methods. On the other hand, the commercial can leverage emotional storytelling to create a connection with viewers, emphasizing the independence and ease Octopus provides for elderly individuals managing their gas bills. The first video is a one-minute situational story commercial that takes place in a family of four. The plot mainly talks about the family running out of gas at home, so they call the SWC company. After the call, the mascot “Pai Pai” came to the home and paid the gas bill by using an octopus card. The entire advertisement uses cartoons and exaggerated plots to attract the public’s attention.

The second video is a 1 mins radio ad. The scene and sound of the host and an old lady talking on the phone are shown in the form of a video. The video will be broadcast on YouTube, featuring the old lady singing the SWC theme song in the form of homophones such as “Four Oranges”. There is a humor appeal and sales promotion in the radio advertisement. Using a familiar joke like “「極速15秒」阿婆狂講菜名” of Hong Kong citizens can increase awareness and word of mouth. After the participation of audience calls in the singing challenge, a 10% discount e-coupon will be offered while purchasing SWC gas. It will encourage the engagement of contests and the downloading rate of SWC apps.
